As most of you Melbourne beauty addicts know, Melbourne has opened their first Sephora store in Melbourne Central. It opened on Saturday the 28th of November which was spontaneously the same day as my Mother’s birth – who is a self-renounced beauty addict herself. Unfortunately we couldn’t make the opening but we did go on the 30th, two days later.
The store was mesmerizing; it was one level and huge. A lot more spacious than the Sydney Pitt Street store which I felt was very enclosed with little room to move around, especially in such a high density area. Anyhow, the reason you’re most likely reading this post; the haul.
I did go a little crazy, as usual, with spending all my money on beautiful makeup. This will most definitely be my last splurge of the year (chuckles at my naive thoughts).
Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set Vol. 2, 8 Brushes and Clutch $126
This was the most desired set on my list. I have been drooling over Zoeva brush sets for ages but could never justify the spurge on brushes. But after a lot of deciding and research I thought it was time to make the commitment.
The set comes with 8 brushes and a gorgeous rose gold clutch. The brushes that are included are
- 104 Buffer Brush
- 109 Luxe Face Paint Brush
- 126 Luxe Cheek Finish Brush
- 226 Smudger Brush
- 228 Crease Brush
- 234 Luxe Smokey Shader Brush
- 317 Winged Liner Brush
- 322 Brow Line Brush
Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette $39
Oh my gosh, guys! This is one of the most beautiful, buttery and pigmented eyeshadow palettes I have laid my eyes on. It comes in this gorgeous brown with golden diamond patterned cardboard compact. There are ten shades from dazzling metallic to stunning mattes.
Tarte Bling It On Blush Palette $59
Another must have on my Christmas list. I was so scared that when I went to Sephora they would have had none of these left because everyone wanted one! But luckily when I got there they had heaps! Go Sephora!
The palette comes in a sparkly black compact with 5 different blush shades
- Fetching – a rosy matte pink
- Dollface – a cool toned, matte pink
- Prim – a neutral rosy matte plum
- Smashing – a warm coral matte
- Beaming – a light peach with shimmer
This is such good value since one Tarte blush alone costs $36 which 5.6 grams of products compared to the palette which is 21.2 grams, which is a little less product per blush but for $23 extra for 4 more blushes, who can go wrong?
Tarte Stroke of Midnight Brush Set $59
This gorgeous set comes with 5 different brushes and a stunning sequinned bag which is perfect for travel! The brushes are super soft, sturdy and beautiful! They are in a limited edition gold packaging as well which is perfect for the festive season. The brushes which are included are:
- The buffer airbrush finish foundation brush
- Concealer brush
- Eyeshadow brush
- Complexion brush
- Fluffy blush brush
I mainly wanted this set for the Buffer Airbrush finish foundation brush, which is GOLD (literally!) It’s actually really soft which was surprising because I heard that it was quite rough when buffing foundation around your face from other beauty gurus!
Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca Remix Studded Kiss Lip Set $62
This gorgeous lip set comes with seven mini lip colours and a limited edition shade called Gold Blooded. They are beautiful and creamy.
According to the Sephora website, “Kat personally names each and every lipstick after the memory or emotion the shade awakens within herself. She’s inspired by endless muses such as art, architecture, music, literature, friends, her beloved animals—each one is undeniably bold and uniquely Studded Kiss.”
Below I have swatched each lipsticks. From right to left the shades are Sexer, Noble, Coven, Golden Blooded, Wolvesmouth, Halo, Bachelorette and NaYEON. My favourites are Wolvesmouth and Bachelorette.
Beauty Blender Sponge $29
As most of you and your pets know what a Beauty Blender is, it was time for me to retire from my black one which I only did have for 3 months. It had a whole in it when I purchased it and I just couldn’t be bothered returning it (very unlike me)!

But if you didn’t know what a Beauty Blender is, it’s pretty much a sponge that ensures flawless makeup. I find that if I use a flat top to blend out my foundation, it just sits on top of my face, but the Beauty Blender blends it out and makes it look seamless and dewy.
Have any of you lovelies been to Melbourne Central Sephora yet, and what did you purchase?
