2018 Blogging Goals

Goal Digger

Hello Beauties!

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and safe New Years. I literally ate, drank and slept on both occasions because thats what crazy 22 year olds do, right?

It feels so fresh to be in 2018 and leave 2017 behind. I didn’t hate 2017 but I definitely didn’t love it. I did do some cool adult stuff like graduate from an undergraduate degree and start a masters degree. But I also was sick for majority of the year which set me behind on a lot of goal reaching. But moving on from that, I am trying to stay as positive as possible because its a new fresh year.

And in this new fresh year, I’ve created somewhat attainable goals. I don’t want to create any goals that are not very controllable i.e. reach this amount of monthly views or this amount of followers on Instagram. These goals are not what matter to me the most, but creating great, consistent content that you and I love, is.

1. Post on ASHLEYMAREEBEAUTY.COM at least once a week.

Essentially, this means better planning on my behalf. Sometimes I let writers block/ creativity drops get the better of me and just not post on the blog for a month. I know its healthy to take breaks, but I don’t feel good about going MIA for such a long period.

To help me achieve this, I have created a list of potential blog post ideas in my trendy notebook. I got this as a Christmas present and its the perfect ‘Ashley blog motivator’. I find writing stuff down in pretty stationary helps my creative juices flow.

2. Post on Instagram a minimum of five times a week.

I used to be so good at posting on Instagram. Back in the day, I’d post 2-3 times a day. Sometimes I now struggle to post once a day. So I’m not going to set myself an unachievable goal – I think giving myself a day or two off is pretty reasonable. I used to feel so guilty when I didn’t post every day but really, as mentioned before, you’re allowed breaks!

3. Update Ashley Maree Beauty!

By the time you read this, I’m hoping to have updated my website. I have been itching to change my theme for sometime now. And since its a new year – what better time than now? I just want to say thank you to Vanessa at Flip and Style for helping me with everything!

Before upgrading, I just had a basic theme which I loved, but I definitely was due for an upgrade as I’m going onto my third year of blogging. Im also planning on making my content on Instagram a little more fun with some more beauty videos, DIYs and decor shots.

What are you blogging goals? Or if you don’t blog, what are some of your work/ university related goals?

  1. Love this, Ash! I don’t want to create uncontrollable goals anymore either like followers or page views either.

I do want to set goals about consistency, improvement, and engagement.

I love your new logo! Where is your little lipstick from? It’s adorable – I think I want to add a few makeup illustrations to my logo in the future.

  2. I’m in love with your new blog layout! It’s just so pink and pretty! Attainable goals are definitely what I prefer to set for myself. I set myself some goals that are more of a ‘continuous’ goal and that has been working for me. Wishing you the best with your goals!

  3. Being consistent when it comes to blogging is one of the hardest things of all! I didn’t start effectively being consistent on the blog till the beginning of 2016 and then with uni I could only post once a week and during exam period it would go bad. But I found starting somewhere at say once a week and pre-writing posts is an absolute life saver! I don’t know where I’d be without pre writing posts.
