Long time, no speak! I hope you’re all well and having a wonderful month so far. I cannot believe its October, even though I cannot believe it’s every month, every month (merely because I’m getting old).
You’re trialling Proactiv+?
Anywho! I’m excited to announce that for 6 weeks, I’m teaming up with @ProactivAU to show you how Proactiv+ works on a sensitive skin gal. Proactiv essentially encourages overall beautiful and clear skin. My skin type is mostly normal to sensitive, with the occasional hormonal acne (mostly stress and period related). I do also get the occasional dry, patchy skin on my forehead. Here is a picture of my skin prior to using the products.
What Proactiv+ Products are your trialling?
The products within the 3-step routine include Skin Smoothing Exfoliator, Pore Targeting Solution & Complexion Perfecting Hydrator.
The Skin Smoothing Exfloilator is essentially a 2-in-1 cleanser/ exfoliator to gently buff away impurities which are within the skin. The product suggests to use a large coin sized amount and massage into your dampened skin for 2-3 minutes. I used a smaller amount, a little bit more than a 10 cent piece, just to ensure I don’t experience any sensitivity with the product first hand. And I experience no sensitivity at all! My skin felt smooth and tight after rinsing and drying. The exfoliator contains 2.5% benzoyl peroxide to help keep breakouts at bay, including future ones.
It is suggested that you use this product twice a day, so just keep in mind to keep motions very gentle when massaging the product in to your skin and to not irritate delicate skin around your face.
I am especially interested to trial out this product. It is said to be a solution to get really into the pore, using a SmartTarget technology. The product also contains benzoyl peroxide, a drying agent, which is used to help dry out blemishes. It says to use a minimum of 2 pumps on the skin after step 1 and then wait until its fully dried to apply step 3. I started out with 2 pumps, once a day, just to ensure there is no sensitivity (which I haven’t experienced). I will gradually step to twice a day, and obviously record my progress each week.
The Complexion Perfecting Hydrator is designed to soothe redness and brighten skin tone whilst not clogging pores. I’m especially excited about the not-clogging-pores bit as I tend to get millia spots if a moisturiser is too rich on my skin.
I don’t want to get ahead of myself, BUT, I’m pretty sure this is my favourite product from Proactiv I have ever tried, so far! This hydrator is one of the most luxurious feeling moisturisers I have ever used. On the first use, when I rubbed it into my skin with my fingertips, it just felt so creamy and soft. I can’t even explain how lovely it felt on my skin. And the hydration lasted all day. So far, so good. I was a little concerned that my skin would be quite dry from the benzoyl peroxide, but I have even noticed the dry skin on my forehead has disappeared and my foundation even applies a lot better! Also, this product doesn’t contain any SPF, so I will be using my usual SPF after applying the hydrator.
Impressions so far?
So far, so good! I haven’t experienced any sensitivity towards the products at all so far. The products do suggest to do patch testing, so if you are sensitive I strongly suggest you do this just in case. You can purchase Proactiv in stores at Priceline, Myer, Chemist Warehouse and selected Terry White stores. You can also purchase Proactiv online at www.Proactiv.com.au.

This post is in collaboration with Proactiv! All of my thoughts and opinions are 100% HONEST. I am documenting my experience with the Proactiv+ products over a six week period on a sensitive skin girls behalf! I have used the Proactiv Original products before and had experienced no issues. Thank you for supporting AMB! <3
